Modern Eco Home Design Malua Bay

A good architect once said ‘ you only need two colours - black and white’. Well this house has black, white and recycled brick. It is a modern eco home design in Malua Bay and is under construction at the moment. So if you keep checking back in we will update these photos with progress of the build. This house has a South facing view. So the challenge was how to get some Northern sun into the building. This was done by designing a simple eco floor plan which incorporated clerestory windows and a courtyard.

 

Recycled Brick Cladding

The external material on the front façade is recycled brick, which is also used inside for the fireplace surround. This gives a good inside and out continuity. The other external material is charred hardwood and James Hardie cladding.
