Turning your Design Plans into (Virtual) Reality

Reading architectural plans can be a daunting task for many individuals. Lines, symbols, and dimensions are great for some, but for the rest of us, they might as well be hieroglyphics, making it challenging to visualise our future homes.

Architects and designers have a number of ways to help clients grasp their concepts and plans:

  • Standard 3D plans offer a clear view of layouts and spatial relationships.

  • Coloured 3D plans add visual detail by highlighting different materials and elements.

  • Video / Animations move through the spaces seeing them in action.

Here at PdD, we’ve always provided complimentary coloured 3D plans to help our clients visualise their future home or commercial space. They help our clients to understand and get a feel of the layout of their future homes or building, making the often daunting design process a bit more approachable. For our larger projects, we also offer 3D animations.

But we’re not stopping there!

We’ve begun exploring virtual reality (VR) technology, which takes design visualisation to a whole new level. With VR, clients can step into a true-to-life representation of their home or commercial space, experiencing the scale and layout as if they were already inside. Imagine putting on a headset and stepping into your space, feeling the scale and dimensions just as you imagined—like trying on your home before it’s built.

We’re still figuring out the details of how we’ll offer this additional virtual reality service to our clients, but we’re excited about it. This new approach could really change the game in how you experience our designs, making the whole process a lot more interactive and fun. Watch this space!
