Paul Dolphin - Director & Principal Designer

My name is Paul Dolphin. My parents knew I would end up working in architecture when I asked for a history of medieval gothic churches when I was 12 years old. Well, many years later and I am still as passionate about design and architecture.

I started Paul Dolphin Designs in 2015 and now in 2021 we have grown into PdD building designers to reflect the strength of our award winning team of building designers.

I first became a landscape architect and town planner, before becoming a building surveyor and then an accredited building designer. I have 20 years of experience working in design, construction and the built environment.

I considered becoming an architect, but I enjoy the role of building designer so much. A building designer is similar to an architect, but perhaps the difference is that we use our skills and experience to really achieve the design and style you want, not the design and style we think you should have.

My architectural philosophy is that good design can be achieved without compromising on eco design. Our own house is a great example of this and it recently won an award from BDAA.

Accredited Building Designer

I am an Accredited Building Designer. I also have an undergraduate degree in Town Planning, a Masters in Landscape Architecture and a Masters in Building Surveying. Most recently, I've attained my Post Graduate Certificate in Architectural Science (Sustainable Design) from the University of Sydney. This means I am accredited to give the most up to date and accurate advice on ensuring any design is as energy efficient and economic as can be.

I am based in Malua Bay and we cover a wide area encompassing Eurobodalla, Shoalhaven, Bega Valley and Queanbeyan Palerang.

I am a passionate and experienced designer and I am here to help with the smallest to the largest building design; commercial, residential or the garden shed!

I am elated to have recently won a National Design Award, and I am looking forward to our team winning many more!
