Braidwood Solar Passive House Design

This eco house design was drafted up by PdD Building Design for Green Homes South East. The project is near Braidwood in a rural location and is a Solar Passive design. The eco design features of this building include lots of North facing glass. This is achieved through the use of a split skillion roof design which has clerestory windows. The house is off grid with standalone Solar PV and batteries and is a great example of a modern farmhouse design.

 

Nathers Star Rating

It is becoming more common to gain a star rating for the sustainability of a home. This star rating is a step up from the standard BASIX certificate and involves engaging a thermal assessor. These are registered with ABSA which recently merged with the Building Designers Association of Australia.
